/// It could have been during his two years of torture he decided if he ever got out he would try to kill as many Americans as he could. ///

And I wonder what is going through this guy's mind after 13 years?

If he does have some dangerous thoughts, I do hope he doesn't implement them anywhere near some of his apologist on AB.

Oh at last you do agree then, that the world including this country is a different place to what it once was?

/// but they ignore requests for the release of British detainees for 13 years. ///

This one isn't a 'British' detainee, he has only been granted the opportunity to reside here.
AOG,

I will post again from your own link...

// The last BRITISH prisoner in Guantanamo Bay has landed back in the UK after finally being released from the notorious jail. //

Shaker Aamer is a Saudi citizen who was held by the United States in the Guantanamo Bay detention camps in Cuba
He was previously living legally in Britain because his Wife is British.
He's landed apparently ::::

Of course the world is different. The War on Terror has helped make it a vastly different place from what it was before....and that has had an unavoidable impact on the UK, too.
He was 'arrested' in Afghanistan where he claimed that he was working for a charity. Did this charity ever come forward to exonerate him?!? No of course not.
Baz,
Of course former detainees should be kept an eye on. Which is why it is remarkable that at least one former detainee has surfaced in Syria fighting for ISIS. I would say that was a major failure, but I am sure you will be along with an unconvincing excuse.

SharonA-

I am only speculating here, I have no proof, but He the Charity he was working for was building a School for Girls in Afghanistan. The place was Taleban controlled at the time, and they kind of frown on any education for females, so it could be expected they would denounce him to the Americans and get a lottery size windfall for their village. It coyld be You!
Id lay money the security services had a nice big file on this moocher before this all kicked off
He doesn't look too badly beaten up, seems to have all his teeth and fingernails, and a big Bushy Muslim beard, can we assume that his wife and sprogs have been supported by the British public for the last 13 years? He is supposed to be a Saudi, why hasn't he been gently removed there?
"but I am sure you will be along with an unconvincing excuse. "

youre actually a pretty pathetic character, that much is obvious....
His wife and children are British.
