"darkest Africa"

people have said less and been labelled racist on here..stand by !
I don`t care
I like the 'cut of your jib', bigbad. You should post more often. ;o)
The link provided by DTC answers the question. All the rest is just having a dig at other posters.
Baz,
Please list the spate this year. Germanwings was murder and not an accident.
^accidents/incidents

None of my posts were having a dig at AOG. I answered the question with answer two. Subsequent posts linked to facts as to why I answered how I did.
Bigbad
Well done. Didn't take long to spot the idiots.
Just a comment. Russia is not exactly renowned for top notch aviation servicing and maintenance and there have been a few reports in the past of blind drunk pilots.
That came out when the Russian aircraft crashed on way to the Katyn Forest rememberance service a few years ago. Polish leader amongst the dead and conspiracy theorys abound.
Aircraft are the only way to go if you want to fly. Well for us mortals anyway.
I wasn’t suggesting Gromit that YOU were “waiting to pounce” merely making an observation that many people do.
I personally have no interest in this particular topic, so wouldn’t bother to read any of the links.
AOG’s original question does not say “There are more crashes” nor does his second posting. He appears to me to be inviting opinions rather than giving his own.
Thank Bigbad,

Assuming there were suddenly more accidents/incidents, why would that be?
Oh please, Gromit. Get a grip!
You dont have to thank me(!)
Assuming you meant “think”, as I said before, this thread has no interest to me.
You are being incredibly defensive and acting like I was having a dig at YOU, which I wasn't. Smacks of paranoia to me.
I think if you get in a well maintained non Russian aircraft flown by a non Russian pilot over or near non Russian airspace and the pilot is of sound mind and is not driven by a perverted ideology you have a good chance of defying gravity. Anything else is pure bad luck or poor judgement. IMO
It`s a matter of opinion I guess. I have a friend (Captain) who has been flying for 40 odd years and he said that some airlines have started up and expanded so quickly and pilots are becoming captains so quickly that they are an accident waiting to happen.
Another problem is the issue of lithium batteries. Not just the ones that are part of the aircraft but the batteries that are in passengers` PEDs. There have been more than one diversion due to them overheating and they tend to have a habit of getting dropped into seat mechanisms which can cause them to crush and start smouldering. A modern day risk that didn`t exist in years gone by.
So to increase your chances of survival
1. travel by glider... as they can't run out of fuel
2. Fly alone............less chance of hijacking
3. Don't take luggage....reduces the risk of bombs/ hazardous luggage
4. Use an old plane .....as design flaws will have been elimijated
5. Don't have a radio...... to eliminate air traffic control mistakes
6. Stay close to the ground to avoid bird strikes, lightning and bad weather.
7. Stay on the ground ...as most fatal air accidents involve impact with the ground.
8. Keep well away from anything that has Russian writing on it..including maps.
Bigbad

You have stated that you rarely post. A shame you did on this occasion.
Why Gromit? (And what A childish post).
Because I defended another ABer or because no matter how often you come back at me, I will come right back at you?
May be an idea to quit while you are behind
I just saw a headline about IS claiming credit, not sure how true this is though and would they have the capability, bearing in mind the other tragic incident not so long ago.

Can't work out how to post a link from my phone from Sky News though.
On the Mail site too if this works:
