Personally I did not pick up the inference that the term 'community' in AOG's reference referred to the notion of the 'black' community - more that it may simply be that local people would recognise these dreadful people and take steps to get them apprehended - but I think you are seeing a 'race' angle that is not actually there.

The racial background of these two women is irrelevant. Would you have posted a similar comment, if the old lady was black and the two young women were white ? This is a crime and only those with a vested interest would try make a racial issue out of it.

I can't see any reason why the locals in this area won't hand these two in if they know who they are.

If they are looking for her then we need to see her face so she can. Be identified???

I think it's a legal matter. When the girls were still being sought, their faces were unobscured.

Now that one has been arrested, newspapers are obliged to hide the identity of the suspects.
