How Do You Feel About The Sudden Rash Of The Tricolour?

I've noticed this on Facebook and now here on AB.

I had a conversation with a colleague about this today, and both of us feel uneasy about it, both find it difficult to express exactly why.

I felt the same when suddenly loads of friends on social media slapped the rainbow flag over their avatars when America ratified equal marriage.

What are your thoughts? If you haven't changed your avatar, do you have reason, or is it just something you've not thought about doing?

Irish tricolour and Nazi flag I would have reservations about

but otherwise give me a flag and I would wave it

and retro as une francaise I deplore the violence that has been visited on your country
Why would you have a problem with the Irish flag?
Id wave the Irish tricolour but it would depend where I was :-)
I might not wave it walking down the Shankill Road :-)
No, not a good idea on the Shankill!
A French tricolour might not be wise on the Falls Road (or at least its side streets) either ...

Yes, I get where you're coming from.
Each to their own I suppose, one person does it and others want to copy them.

What I do find cringeworthy is people like Ben Fogle tweeting things like "Is that rain or is heaven crying today?"

Or Kay Burley posting a picture of a dog with the heading "Sadness in his eyes"

Oh dear!
I understand that side too Panky - my daughter is an avid Facebooker and yesterday she was in despair and vowed to stay away for a few days as the grief had become almost competitive.

Whilst that may be borne out of a feeling of helplessness it ends up helping no one and causing squabbles.
90 people were killed in Turkey last month by suicide bombers, didn't see any Turkish flags on social media then

I've changed my avatar to show agreement with the feeling of revulsion at what happened. I can't do much else to help the people affected so have "joined in" in the simplest way that I can.
I have no problem with this whatsoever and I love Retro's avatar and sp, YOU brought up the rainbow flag first !
Why does it make you feel uneasy?
Can you at least try and explain why ...
I don't understand the question or why you (and your friend) feel uneasy.
In the early hours of Saturday morning I went into my studio got a piece of A2 white cartridge paper, divided it into three, and painted with acrylic paint the left third monastral blue, the right third cadmium red and pinned it to the entrance-porch of my house. An extremely tiny gesture to objectify where my sympathies lie.
I feel no need to "shout" Hey everyone, look at me, look at who I support . But let all those who feel they need to, do so. It'll pass. As will the need to start another bunch of threads on the French atrocity.
If Dublin was attacked by ISIS I would adopt the Irish flag on my Facebook page. If Berlin was attacked I'd adopt the German flag-but I'd draw the line on the Nazi flag.
