I do not think there was deliberate segregation , to the almost totally Muslim people that attended it was just what they were used to. The report says that some Asian voters in that constituency do not speak English even after living here over 10 years. The women are just doing what their menfolk tell them. Forcing them to sit together would have alienated them further.

A bit of spin going on here I think. If this was deliberate segregation, the two white women wouldn't have been sitting with the men. I think the men and women separated naturally because that's what they do.
