It would see there is. Hillary Benns speech was excellent (and I am ignoring the message here) Clearly here is a man that is an excellent orator and would be a formidable opponent in the house to Dave.

Just look at Corbyns glare, and why didnt he make space for him to sit down?

YMG ......yes, I agree, but not yet and I think that Mr Benn would agree, as any leader of Labour at the present time would be a "sacrificial lamb" to be slaughtered at the next election.

NOW....after the next election just watch the Labour "high flyers" form a frenzy of suitable applicants for the Labour top job.
Hilly kicked butt, no question, Jezza now has a problem. I reckon Benn is a solid leadership contender, will they bin JC before 2020 or let him get a kicking? interesting one, Mikey what do you think?
" Jezza now has a problem."

he always had a problem, he is a problem....

Looking at JC at the end of that speech, not in his case there isn't!
Whats Im finding ironic on social media and other places about a load of people all going on about HB and what TB would have thought blah blah...

Although he missed action TB signed up to the RAF during WWll..wonder what he though he would be doing there...helping to bomb targets or what ?
I won't bother listing the tyrants who've been great orators. But there was a Labour leadership contetst quite recently: where was Benn then?
It was a superb speech, whether you agree with his opinion or not. He sounds quite different from his father - but I could have heard Tony uttering the same words in my head. Labour's best hope of a convincing leader-in-the-wings I.M.O..
No point in anyone challenging Corbyn at the moment - the membership would re-elect him.

Jeremy has to be soundly trounced at the next election and resign, or be ousted.

Bitter then jno?
Hilary Benn's speech, by any yardstick, was outstanding. But it also stood out because of the paucity of anything remotely ressembling oratory up until then.
Lots of heartfelt speeches on both sides with lots of good arguments.
But very little fire in anyone's belly.
And the member for Enfield Southgate must have taken a course in how to speak in such a way as still to be speaking English, and yet be almost impossible to follow :-)

No just a touch of indigestion, but they will soon get over it, after their regular dosage of 'GRIPE' water.
