Dunno if this has been posted, there is a petition to stop DT coming to the UK going on. Not that I think that it was in his plans to visit us anyway.

Speaking as someone who vilifies helpless diabetics (apparently!) I think as long as DTrump is provoking a global reaction he's an unwitting force for good. It means people are thinking.
Unfortunately we have had for some years governments who take their lead from the US, where being very wealthy instantly confers deference. Our present government would like nothing better, which is why it's good to see an awareness of and reaction to this pompous windbag.
We need to keep aware that the world is populated with pompous windbags, some of whom command armies.

Yes.....I do.
He is charismatic, rich, successful business man has focused the world on the Republican party (for better or worse) and is always accompanied by an attractive woman.
He says publicly what many people say in private......and yes.........the guy does appeal to me.
Don't underestimate his chances of becoming President.

As I have pointed out previously, Nate Silver, the statistician who correctly predicted the results of all fifty states in the last election advises thus -
Mr Trump's current standing will lead to around 23% of Republican votes within the party, which translates to 8% in the election.
Add to that the fact that the American people have never elected a President without military and / or political experience - Mr Trump has neither.
So, hysteria and grandstanding aside - Mr Trump has no chance of getting elected, even if the Republican Party were to endorse his candidacy, which is seriously unlikely.
The Republicans love a 'colourful' figure, they adore having their racist and homophobic buttons pressed and pressed hard, but they are not stupid.
Mr Trump is unelectable, and they know it - he will not be selected, regardless of his pole ratings.

Jordyboy - //I agree with Sqad Donald Trump should not be taken lightly this is america remember //
We should remember our own political examples - the massive hoo-hah there was over the 'rise' of the BNP, it was all over the media. Then Nick Griffin appeared on Question Time, and when it came to the elections, the BNP lost its deposit in every single constituency it stood in, coming being the Monster Raving Loony Party in one result!
We should learn never to confuse media hysteria with simple facts.
I'll go with Mr Silver's view - he has an enviable track record in this area.

Gromit - //Is that the same Nate Silver who predicted Miliband would be Prime Minister in a coalition Government?
Nate Silver's prediction of the General Election was 100% wrong. //
I was unaware of that - but Mr Silver's record of predicitions in the US elections is impressive - forty-nine out of fifty states in the election before last - all fifty states in the last election.
Since it is the American election we are considering, I think his argument has weight.
