/// The UK Angels are a largely law-abiding biker group who do behave with appropriate 'British' restraint. ///
/// Not so their American counterparts who are a very different breed - the lawless outlaws of fame and
legend ///
Ah, it seems at last that you are admitting that some nations/cultures, behave in a different way to the more restrained British?
Is this venturing on 'racism' or in fact what is a common fact, which can't be openly admitted?

From the link Bathy.
Performance[edit]
Hyde Park, seen here in 2007
The performers at the festival included Third Ear Band, Screw, King Crimson, Alexis Korner's New Church, Roy Harper, Battered Ornaments, Family, and The Rolling Stones.[14]
Fans started to arrive at the park with candles on 4 July in tribute to Jones, and the police allowed the park to be opened late so they could stay.[14] By the following morning, there were already 7,000 people.[16]:323 As with the Stones' performance at the infamous Altamont Free Concert later that year, the Hells Angels were hired as stewards to protect the stage and equipment,[2] something suggested by the Grateful Dead's manager Rock Scully, who was used to the Angels performing this service at free festivals in California.[12] According to Cutler, Jagger said that he was keen on doing a similar free concert in California at some time in the future.[12] At Hyde Park, fifty Angels patrolled the vicinity of the stage, though there was little resemblance other than a superficial one to their American counterparts. They performed their duties in exchange for a cup of tea.[12] In the event, there were only twelve arrests on the day and a subsequent police report claimed that the Angels were "totally ineffective".[12]

AOG - //Ah, it seems at last that you are admitting that some nations/cultures, behave in a different way to the more restrained British?

Whereas I am always left breathless by your attempt to shoehorn the concept of racism into even the most random of connections, I think that here, even you cannot make that leap of logic or conclusion based on what I have said.
I am unsure where the 'at last' comes from in your statement, I have always been a champion of the cultural differences around this world of ours, so I fail to see why I would be 'admitting' such differences?
I am unsure whether you are referring directly to my observations, or speaking generally when you refer to 'racism', but clearly you are not applying the term correctly.
As the name implies, racism refers to specific races, and an inappropriate attitude of prejudice based purely on ethnicity.
My observations concern the cultural differences between two groups of people who are connected by membership of a motorcycle club. If you can make a 'racist' connection out of that, then I am seriously mystified!

I wondered about stealing water soaked white goods
surely Irish travellers celebrating NY early
but then ! ha ! a bright spark and a comment on topic
I worked out the looters to the The First Floor of a house where all the dry stuff is ( xc in very low lying areas or er bungalows ) and steal the dry stuff!

It was very easy, "American" counterparts, a very "different breed."
/// Not so their American counterparts who are a very different breed ///
Still mystified, then let's use a different country shall we?
*** Not so their African counterparts who are a very different breed ***
Ouch!!! typing that almost hurt my fingers.

AOG, I think you are being mischievous - maybe a little early jollity in advance of this evening?
You know as well as I that I was referring to the bike club membership as the connection - and the difference between the two groups, and I was neither making, nor indeed inferring a 'racist' observation - you know me better than that.
Anyway, I am busy at work, so I shall have to park this one for now - and not allow Naomi's thread to be derailed by an endless exchange of nit-picking and pedantry with your good self.
All good wishes for 2016!
