Lord Lucan was officially confirmed dead today, and his son can now hold the title. As there is doubt as to Lucans innocense of his Nannys murder and wifes attempted murder, should the title die with him. Why should someone benefit from the title of a discredited peer. Opinions?

Try asking a reasoned question
It's a hereditary peerage not a life one, plain and simple, so therefore as things stand at the moment Lucan's son is perfectly qualified to inherit the old man's title. Can't say I blame him......
barney your syntax has gone awry as well. If you are on a lappie and your typing is lagging.... believe this, check the battery.

Looks like the bear baiting crowd are out.....
To make it simple for you.....Hereditary titles should end if they are bought into disrepute, better still the whole system should end as it is out of date and self serving. In the context of Lord Lucan's son claiming the title, it has not been proved that he didn't murder his nanny or attempt to kill his wife. Therefore he should not lay claim to the title. I think that's clear enough.
Are you privy to the court papers on this? - No.

Are you privy to the Privy Council and Buck Pal over this case? - No.

Are you a Corbyn fan and signed up with the Party? Probably.
barney the murder or intended murder were not committed or intended to be, because he was a peer. Explain why his remaining family should be penalised. I think Russia did something similar in the early 1900s, worked out well that did. Oh and the French....
No.
But it hasn't been proved he did either.
Well you asked for opinions. My opinion is that i disagree with you.
Never met anyone with a title
Not a problem that they exist

Your are quite happy for the privileged system to continue - fine, i'm not.
I'm sure you could find a legal argument to get Adolph Hitler off too with your thinking, and yes I am a labour supporter and proud of it, how that has anything to do with this question is anyones guess.
Good to see another Flashman fan out there!
so because no one agrees with you you become abusive....

Your entitled to your opinion yes, making fun of my spelling when the question was perfectly understandable, frankly childish.
This question was asked with a hidden agenda that has everything to do with you being a Labour supporter.

nothing hidden at all - i'm not that political anyway, not a fan of self entitlement
barney is merely advocating that there should be no Labour hereditary peers and volunteering to have them abolished first. That's right isn't it barney.
Your hidden agenda was your antipathy to the hereditary peer system in general, not solely in the Lucan case. A basic tenet of Labour/socialism.
