Talbot...when I ever supported women and children being under threat of sexual assault ? Of course I deplore violence against women and children.....who would be in favour ?

If this new movement that Robinson has imported from Germany wants to march then so be it. As long as they don't break the law, they have every right to march and protest.....in exactly the same way as their opponents do.

Doesn't freedom of speech and expression work both ways ?
i would hazard a guess, given what this thread is about, that could lso apply to right wingers :)
AOG...never seen him before !
Good luck to them.
AOG > Maybe, but that doesn't give them the right to violently oppose a legitimate demo.If violence does break out it will not be of the silent demonstrators doing and I hope that the full force of the law comes down heavily on the Far Left Groups or even the Muslims.

We are in agreement which is why I placed the emphasis on the word 'violent'.

If Robinson and others are provoked among Pegida, let's hope they are true to their word and the police act decisively.

Could be very interesting...

/// Your understanding of what freedom of speech speech means leaves a lot to be desired AOG ! ///

Who said anything about 'the freedom of speech'?

I was referring to being allowed the freedom to conduct a silent march of protest without introversion from others who choose to oppose this freedom, and well you know it.

It a good job that those who were up to their neck in mud and bullets didn't possess that same attitude during the two world wars.
But allowing one side to march and not allowing the other side to protest against that march isn't freedom of speech AOG.

Anyway, given the dodgy background of Robinson ( BNP and EDL ), do you really think that none of his former mates won't turn up to support him today?
Bomber jackets and DMs are far more likely to attract instant action from the lawmen than are robes and beards.
It's modern life, but it may change.
Talbot....my Norton has blocked the last link that you sent...don't know why, but I am loath to overrule it.
Robinson knows what is at stake and he will have made it very clear to his supporters what he is expecting and how to conduct themselves. I was going to say as the captain let's see if he plays a captain's innings and leaves carrying his bat....

yes, but there was no six nations then AOG :)
Plus who knows? I am slightly hazy on history, but wasn't it obligatory to join up (with exeptions)? We'll never know how many of those who joined up actually wanted to.

They have been allowed to protest all they want but not in the area designated for the peaceful silent demonstration, so lawfully they should keep away.
I think the demonstrators/protesters should pay for the police that have to attend, just as football clubs do.
Nice to see Jezza and Labour MP Liam Byrne standing firm together with allthe other opposition to the march.
It would appear from the Labour use of the royal "we" does not apply to the majority they are allegedly speaking for.
Just had a peep in the Birmingham Mail and the poll said 65% For the march and 35% agin it.
