A few weeks ago I was reading that 2 plane-loads a day/week were returning to Syria from Germany. The one's interviewed had similar complaints about weather, money, housing, etc.
Like Naomi, I thought, that's very enlightening. Wish I'd posted it now, instead of succumbing to the pressure on here not to post anything negative.

My wife's nephew lives and works in Finland. He says that it all takes a lot of getting used to, especially the Finns, who don't tend to chat but speak when there's something to say.
I don't know any Iraqis but from what I've seen on the news they seem to avoid 'quiet' except when asleep.

Blow the authorities Sandy, it appears that the locals didn't make them welcome, and it is them and not the authorities who have to live and share their infrastructure with them. So perhaps that's the secret don't make them welcome.

Exactly. This is where cultural identity is at threat. Replicate this times however many countries then this is where tensions grow.
