Even before I clicked on the link, my answer was going to be that it is as well the referendum isn't too far ahead - otherwise events may well overtake it.

I'd be happier to be out on our own terms before it all implodes.

People are pessimistic by nature. Given the current problems, many of them outside the continent's control, it's hardly surprising.
Of you look at that surprise surprise Greece is top of the list, and Ireland, the fastest growing economy in Europe, is bottom
People have been predicting the end of the Euro for years: usually the people who don't like it and would like to wish it out of existence. Ditto the EU
Has the Express finally given up on foisting the coldest winter on record on us (!)

The Daily Express, like the Mail, is a propaganda sheet designed to promote the views of its billionaire, tax-avoiding owners. Serious newspapers present news objectively, then articles presenting analysis and opinion separately. The Express has always been against membership of the EU, and in its "news" columns publish only selected items which support its opposition. It is noticeable that many of these items are in reality the opinions of "experts" who are also anti EU. It would be unwise to believe anything you read on the subject of Europe in either paper.

Although actually the "League table" in the paper shows a majority of "optimists", presumably, however that is measured I don't know, in all but 5 countries
