Maximum sentence for this offence is 10 years, he has been sentenced to 9 years plus 2 years supervision.

As PP says, he has not been sentenced for murder.

He will not be released after 4 years, I suggest you read up on the The Prisoners Control of Release (Scotland) Act 2015
