Not just old people but the retired as well. I`ve just been staying with a couple who took severence from my company and now that they are retired, they don`t much care about the economy and how leaving the EU could affect their jobs so they will vote with their hearts rather than their heads.

Won't be just them, but the old recall how it used to be before we gave up sovereignty and so could be again, whilst the poor may want change. Others may be more susceptible to "better the devil you know", "don't rock the boat because you'll be all alone" persuasion.

No one who lives and are not multi millionaires can afford not to care for the economy.

Maybe retirees simply realise that the economy blips from time to time anyway and any short term economic issues will be nothing in the longer view/experience of things. And besides there is no reason things should change much since it is in everyone's interest to keep trade going. The EU having the best of the existing trade balance anyway.

Study the results Hoppy. This is only one survey but it does show that the young are saying that they will vote REMAIN and the older LEAVE.

If the remain camp can get the youth vote out, it would help them enormously.

It says it is too close to call. That the exit group have most support from age 50 plus (when divided into age groups) and it seems everyone wants a vote in 2015, so they're a bit late.

Not really Hoppy. He will have shown he did his best to do the right thing and is willing to stand up and be counted. It's good either way. But I have no reason to suppose that he is only doing this for personal gain and has no desire to leave really.
