Should There Be A Type Of Colour Bar In Athletics?
100 Answers
Both male and female London marathon winners were Kenyan, but nothing unusual in that, since most wining athletic runners seem to be of African decent.
This goes on for me to ask this very controversial question, should there be separate sporting completions for blacks and whites.
Before most of you go off on one, just think about it, we would not think of placing males and females together, athletes with physical disabilities against those with none, and certain drugs to enhance performance are rightly not allowed.
So why are blacks who obviously outshine whites in such physical activities allowed to compete against whites on what should be after all a fair and level playing field.

/// By some degree - this is the most thought-provoking question this year. ///
And that is just what I set it out to be.
/// However, I suspect the thoughts it's provoking aren't the ones AOG would like verbalised. ///
I don't know what you are referring to, but if it is what I think you are suggesting, then the answer is no, they are not what I want verbalised, all I want is for fellow ABers to toss it around in their minds and give a fair and just answer.
I don't necessarily want you to agree, as I am not sure I agree myself after reading some of the more balanced contributions, but that is what AB is all about, think of a debating question then throw it amongst others for their opinions.

But think about your question...do you think that a colour bar in athletics could work.
Sit back and really give it some thought.
Even if you contemplate it for a couple of minutes, you should be able to see how impossible it would be to implement.
Think about the Olympics for a moment.
Just think...
Which disciplines would have separate black and white categories.
And how would biracial athletes be categorised?
Would categories be determined by strength or by speed? Or by endurance?
It simply doesn't make sense.

/// Just when you think you have read the daftest question ever on AB another one pops up. ///

When it comes to daft questions who should know better than the likes of you?
I have been reading some of your gems, for example who would push a tampon up one's nose to curb a nose bleed?

yes excellent idea
not only does it stimulate discussion
but can then be extended to - well pubs - bring back no gypsies no dogs and no coloureds notices
immigration - no coloureds in Kent - or anywhere !
and services - no coloured police or army recruits
so obvious why didnt I think of that ?
AOG - thnker of the future !
