I must say that Jews do not seem to command the same support that is afforded Muslims here on AB. Or maybe I'm wrong?

"Israel should be moved to the United States". Any idea how?
That post was made before she became an MP and she has since apologised. So that's OK, then.
Climb down indeed, anything to keep her job as a counsellor. Must be seen to be neutral, but once the sentiment is voiced I would have a great deal of doubt believing her Volte face.
Lets's steal someone elses land, plonk a load of people on it, and surround them by their sworn enemies. What could possibly go wrong.

i think you are on the wrong thread gromit, we are talking about Labour anti semites here.
^Didn't take long.
Her 'supporters' are now claiming it was a TIC remark. Lol.
some people need to look up their dictionaries for the difference between anti-semitism and anti-Zionism. It shouildn't be hard to do for you Mensa types.
By rights, Israel should have been created in an appropriate area of Germany after the war, since it was the rulers/citizens of that country who decided to wipe the Jewish people out. That would have made more sense than creating a Middle East state based on some woolly promise by a god thousands of years ago!
Gromit's got it right. He describes exactly the creation of Israel.
that's always been my thought, QM: it should have been in Germany.
Quizmonster, Israel couldn't have been created in any other area of the world. The Jews could have been offered land but it wouldn't have been Israel.
God's chosen people in their chosen land...what could possibly go wrong?
why should it have been Israel, though, naomi? They wanted Israel because God had told them they could have it, but you are not obliged to believe He did anything of the sort, and possibly don't. What they needed - as opposed to wanted - was a land of their own where they could be free from lethal prejudice. They could have been given this in Germany, and both sides would have deserved it.
jno, nowhere else would have been acceptable, this was a religious matter, logic doesn't come into it.
jno, I didn't say it 'should have been Israel'. I said that any other piece of land offered to the Jews wouldn't have been 'Israel'.
Strange to see some advocating bringing a whole 'nation' of immigrants from the Middle East into Germany.
Is everyone in Israel a jew?
No, lots of people in Israel are not jews. And lots of those who are jews are not observant. Weren't the jews offered a chunk of Africa before they decided on the bit they have now ? Mind you, the borders of what is now Israel, or even the borders of the pre-1966 country , bear no resemblance to the Biblical land of milk and honey.
youngmafbog, //Is everyone in Israel a jew? //

No. Among others there are many Palestinians there too.
