Both schools that my son went to insisted on natural-coloured hair, and I think that's fine.
I remember a girl at my comp who had her hair clipped very short, but with a very long fringe over her face. She had to wear a baseball cap and keep the fringe off her face until it grew out.
I think there is more to the story. Not only does he have a 'Peaky Binders Haircut, he appears to dress as the young Gang Boss in the TV series. The hairstyle is OK, but does the cap suit him?
Having properly re-read the link - instead of half reading it as i had done earlier - i note that this young lad has, apparently, had this style of haircut for the last 7 months. Are we to assume that no-one thought it offensive until Peaky Blinders returned to our screens last week?
It appears to be remarkably heavy-handed on part of the school and will cost them in terms of the distraction that it is causing, never mind undermining the school spirit in terms of pupils and staff - pure disruption and unnecessary. In my day, that haircut would have been exemplary - getting us into the hairdresser or barber was a major feat!
Good grief...at least he hasn't got patterns shaved into his hair, along with a "diamond" stud in one ear. That's what I've seen here sometimes. He looks very tidy...isn't that what counts?
