And I'm not a very good Catholic, and the lad at work is not a good Muslim.

Ah yes but JWs are closer to God than thee.

A JW once told me that I would lose weight if I were a JW because God doesn't allow eating to excess or taking in anything that is forbidden.

And Prince was supposed to be devout enough to go door knocking.

I thought you said you were an atheist Ummmm??
Obviously not!

What's the sex before marriage rule with JWs?
The man is dead. No point in discussing his lifestyle now.
I am, now...but I was born a Catholic and was never a good one.
Ah but Anne you can have a dig at the dead ones - they don't answer back.

"Quelle Surprise!"
These may have been prescription drugs, rather that taking heroin itself.
Muslims are not supposed to drink alcohol, but the Private equivalent of the AA is very busy in the UAE.
The link seems to suggest that Prince died from taking a larger dose of prescription drugs than he should have done. Millions of people routinely 'exceed the stated dose' with painkillers, because they find that the specified dose doesn't really deal with the pain, so there's nothing particularly unusual there (however unwise it may be!)

There's nothing on the JW website to suggest that JWs can't take prescription drugs:
https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/jehovahs-witnesses-medical-treatment/
I believe he suffered very badly with pain.
I might be wrong but I thought he was on strong pain killers for his hip because he refused surgery...because he was a good JW
Sad.
Flu medicine makes him a bad Christian. What are you on?
// These may have been prescription drugs, rather that taking heroin itself.//

heroin can be a prescription drug - used in hospitals for example
di-acetyl-morphine

// I might be wrong but I thought he was on strong pain killers for his hip because he refused surgery...because he was a good JW//

I am not aware the JWs say that good JWs shouldnt have surgery.

and you should before you post be able to do a total hip replacement without transfusion...
Whenever a celebrity dies young, and they're not involved in an accident (cd. Paul Walker), my first thought is always 'drugs'.

I'm actually very surprised at this news. I always thought that Prince was pretty clean-living.

Although at this point, I don't think we should jump to conclusions, because as has been already said - he may well have had a genuine reason for being on painkillers.

Thing is - in celebrity circles in the U.S., painkillers are the new cocaine.

I thought that Jehovas Witnesses aren't allowed blood transfusions.

Oh right...of course.

If you're undergoing surgery and you need blood...got it.
He has got a genuine reasons. He had serious problems with his hips.
