Hey, Ed! I just voted that I think the tide has turned and hit 'out', then 'vote' and it comes up 100% 'In' - what's happened and can I have another go please? I was careful to position the cursor correctly, but I have to hit this keyboard hard, so it may have jumped.

As I have opined previously - voting is about perspective, not information.

The average voter's perspective of the EU is that it rules us without our choice, and it forces us to take millions of migrants under its 'free movement' laws.

Those two perceptions - and again it is about gut feeling, not facts, will see the majority vote to take us out of the EU.

With the SNP supporters voting for Brexit, (hoping for another referendum). And the disaffected Labour supporters who voted UKIP at the last election. I can see a majority for the Brexit campaign, sadly.

It's hard to say, you can feel how out of step the media narrative is with the opinions of the general public.

I talk to people about it, and for many reasonable people (not those frothing about the usual ukip bulletpoints) who have quietly already known that the answer would be to leave. They're no engaged in the discussion, they just "know" it.

I'm an SNP supporter and I'm voting to stay and most SNP supporters I know are voting to stay so you may be wrong on your assessment on that

That’s not perception. It does. Apparently this country has opposed around 75% of rules and laws enacted by the EU. Nevertheless, we have to accept them.

I think ‘In’ will get it because so many people are afraid to let go of the apron strings.

I think that In will win simply because most people, especially older people, just don't like change.

stuey, I don't know how many elderly people you have asked but I am old and know all my elderly friends, without exception, want out. I also believe you're right in saying we will stay in but it will because of the younger voters who have not known anything else other than the EU.

according to an interview on the radio earlier, if the public vote is "leave", the parliamentary "remain" groups will exercise some right of veto and nullify the vote. if that's true, what's the point of the vote?

I suppose it could happen, but would they keep their seats in the next election?
