I often hear Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and especially Twitter slated both on AB and elsewhere...

But do these bring a slight thawing to our collective feelings about social media?

Garaman - //andy-hughes, Answerbank comes under the heading of Social Media doesn't it? Are you referring to AB users in your first post? I mean is that post perhaps even some form of confessional catharsis? //

I never think of the AB as 'social media' because that is not its primary function.

When we started this site back in 2000, there was no 'social media', and a site like this was brand new and rare - the onslaught of social media came along afterwards, and I have never seen it as similar, merely parallel in some ways.
You are free to see things how you want, andy-hughes, though you may need to clarify them when dealing with others. I have to say though that your post is perhaps the most ironic that I have ever read; pretty much every aspect of your ‘typed-as-thought rant-ette’ represents everything that you are saying is wrong.

You are absolutely right - but that's because I am always right, and almost all social media posts are wrong!!!

(I am kidding!!!!)
