/// Yes, the immigration issue has been about numbers coming from eastern Europe, and about people who don’t have English as their first language. But as anyone with a black or brown face knows, our nationality is regularly questioned, even when we’re born here: we are spoken about in phrases such as “immigrant communities”, and immigration stories carried in the media are commonly accompanied by images of black or Asian people, implicitly assuming they arrived from overseas. ///
And who set themselves aside by having 'Community Leaders', and calling themselves the Ethnic Minorities, every time they consider themselves to be victimised.

Above, I was setting out that we, as a species, are still tribal at heart and probe to picking on each others' differences. We have to fight our instincts to get this right and rub along.
Load of nonsense. All those who work and reside here from other countries need only apply for a visa. Are the Phillipines and India part of the EU. Large majority prop up the NHS and are valued for their skills.
When my wife,in her teens, wished to live, work and learn fluent Spanish she easily applied for a visa. She supplied a use, paid her own lodgings and was not a financial burden to Spain.
Its those who are mostly too young to remember the EEC and the common market who lack the guts to realise we can go it alone and it is they who fear an unknown future. We older ones have faith in our country not funk.!!
God I heard some howlers from the young. Scared of losing phone roaming abroad and other trivial conerns. Did none of them holiday in Bodrum? We had to pay a £10 visa entry before Brexit to a bent immigration official at port of entry. Only crispy tenners accepted. :-)

/// As someone who declines to recognise someone with a brown/black face as properly British yourself......I'd have thought you'd have known exactly what he meant. ///
Before entering false accusations against fellow ABs, perhaps the likes of you should first provide proof of your accusations.

/// And it's too easy to say they have"nothing to worry, fear or be angry about" when we are not in their shoes. ///
And do you extend your sentiments to those Brits, who worry, fear and are angry, that they feel that their country is fast becoming no longer recognisable as the country they once knew?
Or are you not in their shoes?

“sp also says “How dare anyone dispute his Englishness” well I’m afraid to say I must dispute that fact, he may be British but he is not English, just the same as a white person of English parents, born in Mumbai would not be Indian, or likewise a white person born in Kingston would also not be Jamaican, Chris Eubank tried to take himself off as the perfect English gent, by dressing as the stereotype Englishman but that also did not make him English..”
