Sir Cliff To Sue Bbc And South Yorkshire Police
It appears that Sir Cliff Richard has instructed his legal people to commence procedings in suing the BBC & South Yorkshire Police. The amount quoted is £1 million which has been calculated as loss of earnings.Hopefully he secures every penny and these two organisations will be more careful in future about how they conduct themselves.

If he wants to be remembered as a cross between Peter Pan and Bilbo Baggins, he should just lie low for a while and then continue to appear in medium-sized venues, for the further edification of middle-aged women in printed frocks and their daughters.

I didn’t know Clement Freud had been exposed as being a paedo. That will put Henry off his Minced Morsels!
As for Cliff, I can understand his reaction, but surely he would be better off keeping out of the headlines and hoping it would be forgotten.
I think I’m right in saying that on the day it was announced that Cliff wouldn’t face any charges, it wasn’t ‘high priorty' news, as it was during the time the MP got stabbed. Perhaps if the dropping of charges had been given more publicity, he may not now feel the need to for legal action.

"The Crown Prosecution Service said it had decided there was "insufficient evidence to prosecute".
One of Cliffs problems here is that he didn't admit being gay years ago, possibly because he thought it would damage his sparkly clean reputation and that it might not sit well with his Christian beliefs.
But I still maintain he will be opening up a can of worms in suing the BBC and the SYP.

From the Wilde Wiki entry ::::
"Wilde had the Marquess of Queensberry prosecuted for libel. The Marquess was the father of Wilde's lover, Lord Alfred Douglas. The charge carried a penalty of up to two years in prison.
The trial unearthed evidence that caused Wilde to drop his charges and led to his own arrest and trial for gross indecency with men. After two more trials he was convicted and imprisoned for two years' hard labour"

Apparently, or it is alledged, Cliff Richard has a Super Injunction preventing any mention of his alledged behaviour being reported. By its very nature, it is difficult to prove if the Super Injunction exists, but if it does, a Court Case will be hampered, r the reporting of it will.
Perhaps Cliff is expecting the BBC and SYP to cough up before it gets to court.
