anne - been thinking really hard - I'm sure they said 'le plasma', but, whatever, they tested me. It was standard practice if any blood products were involved - or so I was told and I have no reason to disbelieve them. So many people were sticking needles into me that I just gave up wondering.

I'm not a doctor J, but as far as I am aware plasma is screened like blood prior to transfusions. But as you say , a while ago and different country.

Perhaps Harry could have done something a bit more useful and donated blood instead, then he could have had the HIV test at the same time anyway, as all blood is screened (i.e., I've had this test over 60 times without making a song and dance about it).

^^ Good point, as a regular blood donor I have had this test 46 times with never a comment.

it is a good idea because stigma is attached and the stigma can be lessened by an important heart throb having one to show how easy it all is

we were given the first polio vaccine, very publicly as if the doctor didnt vaccinate his own children, then the villagers wouldnt ( Devon 1955)

and yes I had an HIV test when I presented with virtually no lymphocytes at all ( 20, normal 1000) and they all went
wooooo ! when it was negative - they went woooo ! dirty boy quite a lot anyway to be honest
so I was awarded another one [ with consent]
still negative
[ one of the african health care workers would chuck bedding or towels at me from the door ] - with the words 'all right, man?' and then he was outta the door

and I went (slaney may comment): look I have no lymphocytes, low everything and not just a low CD4 count - so you could conclude my HIV test was probbo negative from the blood count. As for doing it twice, how many false negatives have you had - the score is none isnt it ? false negatives dont occur as the results are so important

and they went like - that is a bit high powered innit ?
and I said - no it isnt actually ....

[ after 5 years I am still immuno paresed -but there is very little I can do about it. eating my septrin-acyclo-fluconazole religiously ]

and as for red hair himself
one of his 'frenz' sold hair from his hair brush to the media
hair bulb cells are clonal ( all of one type)
and the DNA from them shows that red haired harry is his fathers son ( Prince Charles, dumbo ears himself )
