/// When the Christians in Northern Ireland were killing and blowing each other up, they did not avoid having Presenters who were Christian reading the news. ///
There is a slight difference Christians do not wear a type of uniform, there would be nothing said if the presenter just happened to be Muslim, it was the fact that she chose to wear a hijab which was also condoned by Channel Four. //
I think there are a couple of issues with your observation -
I don't think the hijab is perceived by Muslims as a 'uniform' - it is a cultural preference worn by some, but by no means all Muslim women who choose to dress this way.
I don't believe her wearing of a hijab was 'condoned' by Channel Four - is it not the case that this is the way the lady dresses on a day-to-day basis, and there is no reason why she should not dress as usual in order to complete her role, which is to present the news?
// Would there had been the same acceptance as shown by some on here, if a Jewish presenter had been presenting the news of a Israeli/ Palestine massacre? //
As advised, I did not see the presentation in question, but I can say without doubt that I would have no issue with a Jewish presenter presenting anything in terms of news - the point is the news, not the presenter.
