The easiest way to remove obstacles from the highway, and that is to physically remove them, and dump them in an appropriate place.

Seems strange that Nottingham Council are asking the Police to ban an arranged EDL march, but no mention of them banning this idiotic protest.

marathon is a pub holiday, this march is a weekday. Cut benefits or a heavy fine. That'll knock in some sense...and save police time

Every time I see photos of similar situations, I think that all those cops milling around doing nothing along with their cars, silly little tents (so as not to cause motorists' distraction!), and tapes strung around, are causing as much, if not more, of a hindrance to traffic as the protestors.
