/// Nottinghamshire Police said they are aware of disruption in the city, and officers are at the scene negotiating with a small number of protesters. ///

Negotiating?????????????

The easiest way to remove obstacles from the highway, and that is to physically remove them, and dump them in an appropriate place.

Seems strange that Nottingham Council are asking the Police to ban an arranged EDL march, but no mention of them banning this idiotic protest.

"quieter for all of us" would be if you were to give it a rest now and then with your daily multiple anti-Muslim postings.
heheheh ....
But YMB - Black people are more likely to be stopped and searched so that's hardly PC, is it?

Still think it was incredibly selfish of them the way they went about it...

I think the reason this has been 'imported' is a bit misplaced but connected with the spate of racist violence that erupted after the Brexists got their way.
AP are you saying the "Black Lives Matter" is directly linked to Brexit?
## "Black Lives Matter" ##

So do white & other colours, but the poor white American lady who was stabbed on holiday in London with her husband, wont be flying back in a seat, just a box.

Paramedics in an ambulance trying to rush a patient to Birmingham hospital were held up by activists

I guess it was just luck that they didn't end up charged with manslaughter, or worse, had the delay led to the patient's death.

Is impeding an emergency services vehicle not an offence in its own right?

Fair right to protest, sure enough but show some common sense and compassion, if that's what you want for yourselves.

Incidentally, 5 years since the Duggan shooting should have got a mention on the armed police thread. I don't recognise the name Mikey mentioned but I'd guess it was the chair-leg-in-a-bag guy. To this day, I've no idea what colour he was.
"AP are you saying the "Black Lives Matter" is directly linked to Brexit?"
Absolutely not, AFAIC they are two different matters entirely.
@trt

//So do white & other colours//

A statement of the very, very obvious and a deflection away from the original problem which was that (mainly white) American cops, with itchy trigger fingers seemed to need a reminder that Black Lives matter TOO.

Not "Only BLM", not "Instead of…" but "…as well as…".

Yes, it is patronising in tone but, after the "sorry, I thought it was my tazer" killing, I thought they'd learned their lesson but the deaths just kept on rolling in, week by week, like these guys don't even watch the news.

In which case, they probably don't even know the entire world is judging the USA by their actions.

chair-leg-in-a-bag man was harry stanley, from hackney. he was white.
Thanks mushroom.

I was convinced he was but, never having seen a photo, was unsure why I thought that. Just goes to show how weapons plus reflex responses in tense situations can cause the innocent to end up dead, no matter what colour they are.

Just logged on ...
Has the Loon from Corby been along and praised them yet?
More money than sense....cut their benefits
How do you know they're on benefits?
working bods wouldnt have time nor energy for this
Don't be silly, Tambo. It's not hard to book a day off work!
I attended a tree protest some years ago. Property developers wanted a row of well established Lombardy poplar trees felled in order to provide a better view of the river for the new residents of the highly expensive apartments that had just been built.
Quite a lot of people attended the protest, a few actually taking to the trees themselves. Camping out night and day. There was much support from the local residents, any of the protestors took time off work (myself included) to make an effort.
I remember a bunch of folks walking past shouting "GETTA JOB!!" apparently assuming that the sort of people who would attend such a protest must be deadbeat dole-scroungers. My shouted response "I'VE GOT ONE! ...I TOOK TIME OFF WORK TO DO THIS!!" didn't seem to go in.
And as for energy...do you think everyone who runs the London marathon is unemployed?
"...apparently assuming that the sort of people who would attend such a protest must be deadbeat dole-scroungers" ...a bit like Tambo just did.
Very sad.
