/// I think most mothers would prefer their child to still be living rather than to have been awarded the title of Baroness..... ///

I quite agree, but in this mother's case she chose to accept it.
No, not until its solved, and I profoundly disagree with you on this subject.

AOG....I have praised your favourite Newspaper many times on here, for the role it played in bringing some of the perpetrators to justice and I am happy to give my support again. But there is still unfinished business with this case.

I may be wrong here but the people responsible for the racist murder of Stephen Lawrence are still very much alive and kicking, unlike a lot of the people responsible for all the historical child sexual abuse.

And your question at the end of your 15:13 post is offensive and completely off-topic.
How many murder victim's parent's are baronesses?

Only one...but there's only been one in Baroness Lawrence's position.

Now...to show you how flawed your thought process is - how many mothers of murdered girls have an O.B.E.?

You see where I'm going with this, right?

Am I obliged to?//

No - no one is obliged to answer any question raised on this forum .

However , given your apparent obsession with this case , and the fact that you posed the question ; i'm sure i'm not the only one on here , who is genuinely interested to know your opinion .
As you have chosen to misunderstand, I'll rephrase...

I think most mothers would prefer their child to still be living rather than be in the unenviable position of being awarded the title of Baroness for tirelessly campaigning for Justice after that child's needless murder.

I expect you will feel the same about Baroness Helen Newlove?
Does your dislike of different colours extend to murder victims too? - Shocking!!
JTH

My my...I didn't know that Helen Newlove had been made a Baroness.
//I expect you will feel the same about Baroness Helen Newlove?//

bet you he doesn't!!!!
If it as your son, wouldn't you want those responsible to be punished??
// Pl0d/CPS know the guilty but they cannot prove it,//

completely wrong - CPS think they know who might have done and cant prove it - and innocent people have gone to prison for long periods of time because of it -

the only reason to 'close' it is to save the careers and pensions ( like Hillsborough ) of those who should have done much much better....

// how many mothers of murdered girls have an O.B.E.? //

diana lamplugh did
and the parents of the two kids blown up in Warrington - colin Parry

and the point is ... ? Both had turned their grief into somethiing useful
No, it shouldn't be closed. A mother lost her lovely son and if I lost a son this way, I would never want it closed either. Kudos to her for keeping his memory alive.
No.

Your OP infers that, after a set amount of time, a case like this should be left alone.

I cannot agree - justice has no time limit, ever.
I think AOG has more of an issue with Baroness Doreen Lawrence.
ummm - Based on previous, you could be right there.
