His politics are a million miles from mine, but who couldn't like Jeremy Corbyn as a person, he is very polite, has a charming smile, rides a bike and lives in an ordinary house.

Oh and he doesn't recognise Ant and Dec and seems to have no interest in the Olympics.

Certainly a man of the people, or at least those who are not interested in such trivia.

I'm not sure the Olympics belongs under the heading of 'trivia'!
I`d hardly call the Olympics trivia
Whose Ant & Dec and what do they do?

I notice no-one has said Ant and Dec aren't trivia(l).
The Olympics are basically just people running round and round, jumping about and chucking things...with a few other odds and ends tagged on!
Certainly qualifies as trivia to me!
It may be as simple as the fact that Mr Corbyn doesn't watch entertainment shows on TV.

Not a crime, and not an indication that he is a better or worse leader for it.
no it doesn't.

In the political world it is, it is nothing more than one nation proving they are better than another, hey! that's racism isn't it? :0)

Hi, exarmy, exbootneck here, they are overpaid, over indulged TV Presenters who for some unknown reason are all over everything like a rash!
It s a lot of very dedicated people busting their guts to do better than anyone else - not a bad example with the constant diet of negativity these days.
I would have thought it was next to impossible not to know how well Britain is doing in Rio, and Ant/Dec are part of the landscape these days !
I've been thinking....have Ant/Dec ever heard of Corbyn ?

Still with great chunks of superiority and nationalism.

Or have ever been seen down Rio way? :-)
Not knowing Ant & Dec, Jeremy Corbyn has actually risen in my estimation.
lol Vulcan !
It seems odd that Jeremy Corbyn doesn't know who Ant & Dec are, because they are so ubiquitous.

But if he's not a big telly watcher, it's understandable, in the same way that someone with no interest in football will have trouble naming Man Utd's home ground.
good for him. It's irritating to watch politicians forced to nominate their favourite football team when most of them show no interest in the game - and they shouldn't have to, but they've got to pretend they're men of the people.
This is typical of how trivia has entered into all our lives.

I didn't see the complete program, but shouldn't this Derbyshire woman
( who I have not heard of ! ) be asking really important questions, instead of trying to populist ?

Thanks for that QM - can I have a go?..

Hospitals are just big buildings with a load of sick people lying in beds...and a few other odds and ends tagged on.

Great.
