Hasn't enough money been thrown at this two week event already?

£347m of lottery money has been spent on the event and they say that each medal that has been won cost £5.5m of public spending.

Most of these minority interest events create attention for only 2 weeks every 4 years how many of us rush out every week to watch little pole vaulting for example?

Not really true fans of these kind of sports are they if they don't take the trouble of getting off their sofas and picking out a venue where these particular sports take place much more often than every 4 years?.

Why do you think that?

Are you saying that fans of niche sports only ever watch them at the Olympics?

To call any woman a b**** is highly offensive.
Here we go once more , topic changes from Olympic Victory Parades to 'why does everyone pick on me'.
There has been a change in policy on AB.

Bloody used to be on their list of words which would automatically be asterisked out.

Now, however - that's changed.
Lol
AOG - really you are a party pooper !

If manks and tthe scumbags of moss-side want to go out and celebrate in the constant cold northern drizzle - - let them !

Even a child killer or a mass murderer?

Obviously one does not call any women so.

But then nothing seems to be said if one calls any particular man a 'dirty old dog'.

See the proper name of a female dog is censored out, but not the proper name for a male dog.

There's equality for you.

Yep. No one agrees with his OP so he has gone into ultea defensive mode.

Then perhaps others including yourself should consider not picking on me?

Why can't some just put up an opposite view point if they so wish, without the need to get personal?

Some in a troll like fashion find a particular weird and obscene delight in attacking the messenger rather than put up a constructive argument to the news item set before them.
I really can't see me getting all angsty if someone used the 'Gory' word on one of my threads, certainly doesn't smack of being picked on to me.

Anyway I've said my bit on the topic, so will leave it there.
Looks more like you have been trolling yourself.
You have done your best to change the subject from Olympic Parades since the first page when no one was agreeing with you. Since then, all you have contributed are gripes about other ABers.

If you are unhappy about Lottery money being used to fund athletes, then don't play the lottery, it's a simple as that.

Everyone has a right to their opinion, all except me it seems, and you are wrong to say "No one agrees with my OP".

Has regards your incorrectly spelled ultra defensive mode, doesn't everyone go into the defence when they themselves are challenged?

Well perhaps not judging by some they just hold their hands in the air and surrender or maybe use that other often overused method of reverting to personal attacks.
AOG,
You obviously need to argue with someone today. Fortunately for me, I have important football to watch. I can watch self pitying egotists, play the victim on the telly without reading anymore of yours.

Do not directly accuse me of trolling all I said was "in a troll like fashion".

/// You have done your best to change the subject from Olympic Parades since the first page when no one was agreeing with you. Since then, all you have contributed are gripes about other ABers. ///

Please discontinue telling untruths if you go back to the start, all my answers were perfectly legitimate answers to the opinions set before me, maybe an opposite opinion but valid no less.

/// If you are unhappy about Lottery money being used to fund athletes, then don't play the lottery, it's a simple as that. ///

I don't play the National Lottery my money goes to a much better cause the Health Lottery.

/// You obviously need to argue with someone today. ///

It is not arguing, it is called having an opposite opinion. but I know that is not allowed in Gromit's world.

Enjoy your telly, hope your selected team wins, for the sake of peace in your household.

The National Lottery has given £35 billion spread across 490,000 projects, how much has the Health Lottery generated?
//how much has the Health Lottery generated?//

it could be difficult to answer that because the health lottery isn't a single, national, entity but effectively a collection of local lotteries whose individual local committees decide what to do with the cash, amongst health related local projects.
