a few years ago
the tour bus went to it ( after a vote of course )
and the guide gave a homily to the teenagers present on respect

and basically said to the old europeans - when you visit a place where so many deaths tooj place no one of you speak but we have to tell the others ....

perhaps they were taking 'in america anything goes' too seriously

A blow up doll is tasteless regardless of where they are. Like someone posted earlier they could have just been going from A to B.

Some of the debates turn into 'I slam' rather than 'Islam'.There are occasions where too many personal differences get in the way of sensible discussion about religious matters,particularly concerning Islam.

I fail to see how anyone 'passes through' Ground Zero, but if anyone is within sight of the area, I think an appropriate level of respect should be shown by everyone, from every nation.

Sadly, there will always be numpties who lack the basic intelligence to think beyond their immediate orbit, and to consider others, and that is what leads to nonsense like this.

So yes, it is wrong and unacceptable to take 'selfies' and laugh and smile at this site - it still haw raw memories for thousands of Americans who lost people or were there on the day - the Visitors' Centre is staffed only by people with a direct connection to that day, so for their sakes alone, a little sensitivity is required.

I rather think it was the inflatable doll, not the selfies (they sadly seem to be commonplace both there and indeed everywhere as evidenced in the report) - it would have been rather pleasing had the Police inflicted a puncture wound to the said inflatable.
