The Result Of Too Much Right-On Liberalism?
76 Answers
The loud mouthed self righteous Metropolitan 'elite' have for too long been able to inflict their minority views on the much larger populous, blasting those that disagree as Racists, Little Englanders and a host of other demeaning insults. Now across Europe we are seeing a worrying rise of the far right (and left).
Is it about time we put the right-on brigade in their place and put policies in place that reflect the views of the majority not a minority? OK, it means removing the Liberal 'elite' from the Police, Civil Service, Judiciary, the BBC and other such institutions and replacing them proportionality with people that represent the masses but surely that is preferable to the alternative?

And my (and several other posters) point is that it does nothing of the kind.
Human nature is largely unchanging, and part of it means that there will always be sections of the community who like to feel that they 'belong' to something, and that is often reflected in post-adolescent dressing up and forming together in groups, often with attendant noise and attention-seeking.
At one end of the spectrum, that can be bike and scooter clubs, football supporters, golf club members, that sort of thing. At the other are the neo-Nazis. the survivalists, the racist gangs like the EDL.
But the fundamental principles remain - these groups have always been around, and always will be, they always make a lot of noise, they have an unerring belief that only they understand what is going on, and only they are right (the rest of us are 'sleeping', 'blinkered' insert your own superior self-satisfied label here if you wish.
And the vital point that we should never lose sight of? they are and will always remain tiny minorities, who attention-seeking and media coverage is in direct inverse proportion to the impact they really have, and the relevance to society as a whole.
Life goes on - nothing to see here.

not true mikey, you fall into the usual trap of digging up videos of the extremist groups but the real damage is done my pushing normal sensible people into that direction when they are basically tolerant. You then compound the whole thing by being dismissive of their fears in the that condescending - you must be thick if you can't see it - way that you have. The extremists need buy in from the masses, that's how Hitler and co progressed, that buy in is created by people like you.

That particular attitude is fully and firmly in the hands of those on here, and in the wider world, who preach the doom and gloom of Islamisation, and cannot be shared with those who would wish for a more tolerant, and essentially realistic view of what is really happening, or more accurately, not happening.

Yes...happens all the time. I can't tell you the number of normal people who have suddenly rocked up to work wearing swastikas, goose-stepping through the lobby, because they've heard John Humphries on the BBC being a bit liberal.

Those on the far right have a reputation for being thick because we've had a chance to listen to them and they are a bit thick.
The big difference between left wing extremists and right wing extremists, is that on the far left, you get over-educated intellectuals who think that simple problems have complex solutions, and on the far right, you have under-educated people who think that complex problems have simple solutions.

TTT....the ultra right wing in Britain have always attracted those kind of men.
Mosley did the same in the 30's ( sorry Mush ! )
The EDL, BNP, and BF actively recruit those people because they lack the intellectual ability to think for themselves ....easy pickings when all you need is a crowd of thugs to push racist policies.
Our current difficulty with immigration is not going to be solved by unleashing hordes of semi-educated thugs on to our streets, nor opening food banks with racist policies. You shouldn't be giving them tacit support with threads like this.

I love the glib statement 'OK, it means removing the Liberal 'elite' from the Police, Civil Service, Judiciary, the BBC and other such institutions and replacing them proportionality with people that represent the masses'
I had to put down my yoghurt knitting and nearly spat my peace muesli all over the screen 'pon reading that twaddle.

//TTT....you have no evidence that there "millions upon millions of ordinary people who have had enough of the liberal/anti British"//
You have your evidence. You’re constantly banging on about the rise of the far right!

Yeah...by disagreeing with someone who has said that the liberal elite need to be sacked from their jobs at in the Police, Civil Service, Judiciary, the BBC.
Sometimes it's actually right to be self-rigateous when faced with ideas like that.
It amazes me on this site sometimes. Those on the right literally want their threads to be unchallenged. When I post an argument supporting an idea, I welcome challenges to my point of view.

That will take so much organising.
I assume that it will be the Civil Service who will have too enact this pogrom, and of course - it can't stop at the police, BBC, judiciary and Civil Service. There's also the medical professions, and schools/universities.
This would be a massive undertaking. I wonder whether we actually have enough people who's views match that of 'the masses' to replace these professionals.
And what do we do with those who must be replaced?
Do we sack them or given them redundancy?
Will they be banned from re-entering these professions?
How will this affect unemployment rates?
youngmafbog - I don't think your idea is going to work.
