The article refers to those below the age of 18 but doesn't mention any age below this. We allow marriage at the age of 16 in this country, would it be reasonable to separate a 17 year old from her legally wedded husband/wife?

I would certainly have a problem if these were very young 'teenaged-brides' but if the age was about that which is acceptable here, I don't see what the problem is.

14 is the age of consent in many countries.

Unless the new legislation has been implemented, the lowest marriageable age in Spain is 14.....it certainly was last year.

It’s a difficult call. The law in this country says that marriages conducted legally elsewhere are recognised here. I don’t know if Denmark’s law is the same.

Peadophilia means haveing a sexual intrest in children below the age of puberty. This in NOT Peadophilia as the 'brides' are all past puberty.
As said even in Spain the legal age to marry is 14.
I don't agree with it but it needs to be pointed out that having a 14 year old or even 12 year old 'bride' is not peadophilia as long as the girls are past puberty.

We have child brides as young as 13 in the UK within some gypsy communities. The authorities don't sanction it but they certainly turn a blind eye

Eddie, wasn't footballer Adam Johnson jailed for child sex crimes and classed as a paedophile and the girl was 15, hardly a child and he was classed a paedophile.
