They might not let them join because of the nature of the split in the nation... can't think of the proper term. A few other Euro countries would block it because they don't want their disenting regions doing the came. Spain has the separatists that would jump on the band wagon.
But I think one of the high up EU people have already said they wouldn't get in. Is that just posturing though?

If it's good enough for England ...
I think, personally, the UK is living on borrowed time if Brexit goes ahead.
An independent Scotland, if that were to come about, would certainly be admitted to the EU. Any other provisional arrangement would not be full membership, but would possibly hasten the break-up of the UK anyway

She says she will only have a referendum if she can win ... so how soon does she think she can hector the Scottish public (the ones who that want to stay in the union) into submision?
