I can understand people protesting if there is something to be gained from it but I can see no point whatsoever in creating mayhem when at the end of it all nothing will change. I find it quite upsetting to see Americans burning their flag. I doubt it will result in a re-run of the election.

Well yes futile in as much as it wont get their goal, but sometimes it is better for people to let off steam. However, like I said above obstructing others going about their business, causing disruption to business, vandalism and violence are across the line.

I would have though burning the countries flag was a stupid thing. That will be there for future employers to see for many years. It can only come back to haunt you. It could also be seen as an act to incite violence I would have thought?

Protests were on the cards no matter who won - the only difference is, which supporters are doing the rioting.

It's not about 'changing' anything - clearly that is never going to happen - it's just about making feelings known, and everything will settle down after a few days.
