Because people can either be born as psychopaths, or can learn psychopathic behaviour. The inability to feel or empathise in any way with the pain and suffering or another human being can be inculcated into any human mind at any age. That rather cold and analytical response does not in any way the deep sense of horror and sorrow I feel at the news of this crime -...

/// I must admit that at first reading I assumed they were both girls. ///
Why?????
*** Jurors heard that the killers went on to share a bath, have sex, and watch four Twilight vampire films after the murders in Dawson Avenue, Spalding, on 13 April. ***
Yes I know in these enlightened times.
But:
*** Mrs Edwards and her daughter were repeatedly stabbed by the couple, who were described in court as having a Bonnie and Clyde-style relationship ***
*** In court Peter Joyce QC, prosecuting, detailed for the first time the account given by the boy shortly after he was arrested. ***
*** He said the pair had met up and both agreed to kill Mrs Edwards and her daughter after "the girl had asked him to kill both of the victims as she did not like the smell of blood".***

The 'normal' sentence for a murder committed by a child is 12 years
They have got nearly double that, so I think there is no way anyone can say the sentence is too lenient. Also it is a 'minimum' sentence of 20 years almost unheard of it a case where a child has committed murder! As the judge says , in this case life could mean life.
Of course there are those on AB who would not be happy unless they were hung drawn and quartered in public and their remains fed to pigs !
