A memo leaked to the Times suggests the Government has 'No Plan' for Brexit and a Negotiating Stretegy will take 30,000 extra staff, 6 months to come up with one.
As suspected, it is an Omnishambles.

Boris seems happy enough for nowt to happen for some one who wanted out don't you thing .
Naomi > Who is this unnamed author anyway?

I believe it was a certain Mr P Rovocateur that staunch Europhile.
Haha! Quite possibly.
How convenient, a leaked memo just at the right time to fan the flames of exit. The Times obtained it, the BBC have seen it and yet in these days when virtually everybody carries a camera nobody thought to photograph it.

A government minister - didn't catch which one - was on Radio Four this morning denying that this 'memo' is anything to do with the government, who deny all knowledge of it.
just what the brex addicts wanted: thousands more civil servants and bigger government
andy-hughes, the link indicates something similar.

//The government said it "didn't recognise" the claims made in the memo.

Transport Secretary Chris Grayling said he had "no idea" where the report came from.//
Vulcan , almost nobody carries a separate camera yes I agree, but virtually everyone has a mobile phone with a very versatile camera in it!

The Times is behind a paywall, so I have not read their report. I doubt they would have run with it if they didn't think it was genuine. There is an impression that the Government are needlessly dragging their feet. This memo is just going to enforce that.
I cannot judge which side would have leaked the memo. A brexiteer trying to speed up the process. Or a remainer trying to wreck it?
Question Author
The physical memo is probably not being shown by the Times because it would reveal which Government department the leaker worked for. They would not want to endanger a valuable source within the Brexit team, so they are being protected.
why is this on news ?

everyone knew there was nt a plan after
Plan A - 1. say " we're going !"
2. er that's it !

even the raving crazy Brexiters ( well some of them ) are having lucid intervals and agreeing:

well we cant just go and slam the door, if there is another way where we can retain the good bits and reject the bad bits ....

I would have expected that by the day after the vote the Leavers would have presented a well thought-out, costed and coherent plan, why didn't they?
As has been stated,

A) leaving Europe wasn't expected
B) Cameron washed his hands of it and b******* off.
C) May was also a Remainer

However, many a fine stroke has been played off the back foot or will the Government come to grief at Silly Point?
Zebo....because nobody expected the LEAVE vote......its as simple as that. And the Tories didn't and still don't want to leave.

I said at the time that a BREXIT may take years of even may never happen.
Question Author
If there really was no plan in place for the eventually of a Leave vote, then that is utterly shocking and a disgrace. I don't really believe that to be true.
Oh I do believe there was no plan for a leave vote, as Cameron's swift departure testifies, will it ever happen ? Who knows ?
Gromit, Cameron ONLY agreed to hold the referendum because he and the rest of the government were CERTAIN it would be in favour of 'Remain'.
There really was and is no 'Leave' plan! They simply did not plan for something they were sure could never happen!
^ Cameron left because he realised he could earn his PM salary for giving a speech for just an hour o:)
Eddie, who doesn't plan for a worse case scenario? Especially when there are only two scenarios.

It would be completely ridiculous especially from joe bloggs, let alone the Government.
Question Author
Maybe I am being too critical, but shouldn't the people campaigning to Leave, have had an idea of how to do it? Worked out a timescale, found out when certain paperwork needed to be sent? You know, basic planning?
