Why?
369 million ?

Someone is having a laugh
To answer the question posed, no they shouldn't. Before the anti-monarchy protests start, look at the bigger picture.
The money generated by the Royal family and all the buildings, regalia, pomp and ceremony that comes with them will benefit the tourist industry and London for decades to come.
Buckingham Palace is the property of 'Her Majesty's Government' so the owners ARE paying for their own repairs! Only the 'Daily Wail' would put it down as a 'handout' to the Queen.
refurbishing the houses of parliament is going to cost £7bn; Buck House is cheap. It's the home of the head of state, and there's no reason to suppose it wouldn't stay that way if the royals were abolished tomorrow. So no, it's a state responsibility.
the landlord pays for repairs to the outside innit /
Govt ( us ) pay
She doesnt own Buck House but does a few others ( Castle of Meys etc )
altho I have to say historically Mary's dowry to George was spent on refacing Buckingham palace in 1927 innit ?

[ havent hand checked the facts. On AB no one is in the habit of checking anyway - they read any old bullocks in the Daily Mail and peddle it as Gospel Truth a/c to Sint Nige ]
I don't think so, no.
Get our "The Builder" in, he'll do a good job at a fair price, and regarding who pays, it must be the nation of course.
It isn't her house. So no.

Queenie E gets to live in buck house free as a part of her job.
Being she is one of the richest people in the World, I think she should contribute.
no

Careful, naomi24 will be along shortly to say "Sorry, Bazile, much as I try I don't get the joke.
Definitely not.

She is a resident of Buckingham Palace not the owner, how many tenants are expected to undertake hardcore restoration of the property?
Plus it's to come out of the Crown Estates - and after all, that used to be Royal income...so why not?

///Occupied Royal Palaces, such as Buckingham Palace, are not the private property of The Queen. They are occupied by the Sovereign and held in trust by Crown Estates for future generations.
The Queen privately owns two properties, Balmoral Castle and Sandringham House, which are not publicly funded///

So why should she pay?

Oh I was unaware of that, any idea how much rent the Royal pay the government?

Because let's face it the Government's money is actually our money, isn't it?
I am always intrigued by the Royalist argument that the Royal Family bring in tourism.

I visited The Palace Of Versailles on my honeymoon, and I found the sheer splendour and majesty and history of the place was not remotely compromised by the absence of a French Royal Family living in it.
the government are clearly missing a trick here - how many luxury flats could be built into Buckingham palace, and how much would the annual rent on each realize? meanwhile, mrs queen could live in a council house on blackbird leys.....

If her landlords are like the landlords of today, I bet they put her rent up.
