/// You have to look at the other issues surrounding security, because whether we like it or not we are the most watched people in the world. There’s more CCTV in Britain per head than anywhere else on the planet. And for CCTV to be effective you need to see people’s
faces.” ///

Must admit that he has a point.

From link: “Should we follow this and ban the burqa in this country? Yes. Personally, I think this is about civility, not religion.”

It is about both. Religion has everything to do with it.
The way he puts it, yes, he has a point, but he is carefully sidestepping the massive political cultural and social impact that such an action would have.

Of course, not being in a position to implement such confrontational legislation, Mr Nuttall can take all the political capital out of wanting it, without actually having to face the consequences of doing it.

Convenient.
I'm on the fence with this issue.
AH, I am sure you would much rather Mr Nuttall kept quite rather than rock the boat of your right-on liberal ideals, hence you resort to the retort of 'convenient'

He is right, time to take our country back.

Could lead to a better life for some of the women. A friend who checked passports told me the facial covering sometimes hides bruises.

Agree with him 100%
Politicians across all parties are too cowardly to address issues concerning Islam for fear of upsetting Muslims.

Islamic garb is the tip of the iceberg that those who have the power to do something have failed to address.

I have left Blackburn Hosp about about 12.30 today, I followed this car & though, what the Ell is this person doing, coming up to Junctions, Crossings, roundabouts, it was not a gradual slow down but a bang on, this area is bad for Cameras but my thoughts were pass this person, the opportunity came & I passed, on looking at the car this person with a full mask on, how the feck can a person correctly view with this thing on their face? yes, the ban should come as soon as possible, apart from the security issue these people should be banned from driving with this face mask or call it what you like.

Look what Nigel Farage and UKIP did in implementing a EU referendum, so I wouldn't yet assume that he isn't in a position to implement such confrontational legislation?

Not for the first time, you have massive assumption based on what you think I think.

Not for the first time, you are completely wrong.

Totally agree, it is the same as those drivers who take to the roads on these frosty mornings having only scraped a very small proportion of ice from their windscreens.
AOG, you have just posted what I was going to say, so I will just post the picture of what should be banned with regard to driving.

Let's get out the de-burqe forthwith.
So we don't mind CCTV now then :-)

I'll repeat what I always say in situations like this: if someone is up to no good and they want to disguise themselves, they are still going to go it.
After all, murder is illegal, but it still happens.

But Paul Nuttall needs a headline grabbing statement I guess on his first day in post
Isn't there already a law against driving if you can't see properly (!)

Some do, but in the true Islamic way, they get them covered up.

I'm all in favour of CCTV, but Mr Nuttall's suggestion I suspect is not about that.

Yes there is, but has anyone heard of a burqa clad Muslim lady pulled up for breaking that law?
If I was one of them mossies up to no good and there was a spare burqa lying around I don't think the fact that there was a ban on wearing them would deter me from using it as a disguise.
