Massive loss for the Tory Party. Well done LibDems. Good result for the STAY campaign as well.
I'm off back to bed now !

So in the referendum the result was Remain. So how are you equating the libdem victory as a good result for remain.
1) Are you suggesting a democratic process should be over-riddedn by MP's with the resulting civil commotion that would bring?
2) Surely it would only be a good result for Remain if they had voted to Leave last time and this time voted in a Remain candidate? And only then if you ignore all the other factors.
BTW, I have not been a Tory supporter for some time(surely you must have read my posts), indeed only recently I stated the jury was still out for me on May.

you just pointed out that they reaffirmed their view from the referendum so that hasn't changed. Yes the Limp dums now have 9 seats and Goldsmith has demonstrated what a *** he is! This is yet another demonstration that the public are prepared to upset the apple cart when given the chance. This time the Limp dums benefited, something had to go right for them eventually!
Richmond is a very pro-Remain constituency, but the fact is people broke ranks from party allegiance to say a very firm NO again to Brexit. It's absolutely true that such a result would not happen in every constituency (in pretty sure it would happen next door to us)
But the point is they sent a very firm warning to the government which currently seems adrift and clueless and apparently heading us for a disastrous hard exit from the EU. In the unlikely event that Corbyn decided to try to force s general election I don't think the prime minister would be wise to oblige ;-)

sqad: "Yes.....mikey is right.....bad day for the Tories and an even worse day for the Brexiteers. " - have another punnet - as mikey pointed out they just reaffirmed their position from the referendum, this has no effect on brexit. Are the remainiacs going to keep going round finding areas that voted to remain? Hang on our neighbours all voted to remain so perhaps they can become and independent enclave and negotiate to be shafted by the EU in their own right! PMSL!
