Nothing better than for us to be alerted of a possible new threat, that of being mowed down while out Christmas shopping.

I normally take a specific route to my local supermarket, but I don't go everyday.

And we don't need her to spread fear further than is necessary. To claim that such attacks are the new normal is scaremongering of the highest order and totally out of proportion to the actual risk.

The German news media, like the French media after the Paris attacks, try the vox pop approach finding people in the street who say how they will continue with their lives regardless (it makes a better story) but what they can't show are the people who are being cautious and staying at home with their children and of whom there are many.
So whether you Gromit, are unperturbed shopping in your branch of Tesco in the UK, is completely beside the point.
