In its bid to kill off the BBC, the Government has forced the Corporation to put all its shows out to tender from private independent producers.

The new makers of 'A Question of Sport' plan to pension off the lovely Sue Barker, and replace her with a disabled black lesbian. Apparently this necessary to attract the covetted 18-30 year old views.

I certainly won't be watching.

* ...this is necessary to attract the covetted 18-30 year old viewers.
Which company will be making QoS?
As long as they get rid of Dawson and Tuffnel,I might start watching it again.
It's time they pensioned off the whole show. Way past its sell by date.
As Coleman would have said 'Remarkable'...

Have you got a link, stating this?
In truth ms. Sue Barker is past her sell by date as is the show. I won't be using my supply of stamps to co plan. -)

Any old disabled black lesbian or have they got a particular disabled black lesbian in mind?
AOG- there is probably a link to the news report on the same site as the recent news item about someone sentenced to 5 years in prison for using a disabled parking bay
Coming from Gromit I assume this is a joke surely?

///A tender document circulated to prospective bidders late last year said the broadcaster was looking to “refresh” A Question of Sport, bringing more ethnic minority, disabled, and LGBT performers to its line-up.///
//"The show is currently going through that tender process but no decisions have been made yet, so we would advise against idle speculation in the meantime.”//
Presumably they meant to add "except by members of AB, who are free to re-interpret the news to fit their personal agendas".
Thanks for the link Baldric , but it says this..........."as part of an overhaul that the BBC says will offer viewers “a fresh and new perspective”.
The corporation is understood to be in the final stages of awarding the contract for the historic quiz show to an independent production company, under an agreement with ministers to put the majority of its programmes out to tender.".........................Not this.................."In its bid to kill off the BBC, the Government has forced the Corporation to put all its shows out to tender from private independent producers."

A question of Spite indeed........but who's?
If bringing more competition in brings down the licence fee, and the huge salaries of a few in the BBC, then I'm all for it.
gromit, I agree 100%, It has it's problems but the BBC is an institution that we would be a lot poorer without. This is a spiteful move by the government. It needs some changes certainly but this is a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Are they really going to replace Sue B?
I gave up watching a Question of sport when I heard it was scripted rather than a quiz. Anyone else hear that?
It's pretty obvious. I'm also pretty sure the celebs get given a couple of answers.
There is only one T in coveted.
Chief Superintendent
The Spelling Police.
The Government's policy on putting programming out to tender is simply an extension of the BBC's own 'Compete or Compare' policy, which was introduced by their Director-General in 2014:
