Jeez, I find mupuself agreeing with the Hopkins woman.
Question Author
Maybe Hopkins should ask the first question for the second leg?
I had the same reality check Zacs, but could not argue with myself.(Unlike some regular posters) (^_*)
Me. Are you saying she was briefed on it beforehand?
"Jeez, I find mupuself agreeing with the Hopkins woman."

Well, respecting the judgment of Mr Z slightly more than some, I scanned through the latest KH pearls os wisdom, but sadly found it the same old tabloid tripe.
I mean, yes, Ms LK can be irritating, but folks, this is the president of the US and our own dear PM: a big boy and girl on the political stage that no one forced them onto. They can take it ...
I would have thought that all Qs are known before being asked.
Pitch perfect article from K Hopkins, but I doubt that mikey will read it as he never seems to follow any links.
To save Mikey (or anyone else) the bother ..
"Laura, the little killjoy" "let the hating commence!" "Squealing like a true liberal " "you little Scottish twerp" "Pussy March brigade" ...etc

You get the picture ...
Thanks Itchy....I thought it might be a variation that sort of theme.
Question Author
LK was born in Italy!
//Even Laura, the little killjoy from the BBC, couldn't ruin Donald and Theresa's DC love-in. Now I can't wait for the return visit - let the hating commence!//

//Sadly, the BBC's political correspondent, Laura Kuenssberg WAS there to ask a question having apparently been nominated by the PM's press team to ask the first question. What were they thinking.
Squealing like a true liberal she did her best to rip apart all Theresa May's good work thus far.//

//Instantly, my toes curled in shame that she was the voice of Britain on the world stage.
The only consolation was that she did not have an English accent. Actually, Laura, you little Scottish twerp, many of us are delighted about this presidency and need no reassurance at all. In fact, I would suggest we will need more than reassurance to pay our licence fee next year. At least North Korea gets its propaganda for free.//

//I can only hope Trump refuses the BBC any press passes or Security Clearance for his visit here. And bans Kuenssberg from his presence. I can almost here the clacking of knitting needles as the Pussy March brigade starts knitting new hats ready to protest his visit, preparing more random placards about the state of the planet or the strength of their vaginas.//

These are the full paragraphs and include the few words that ichkeria was so keen to focus on. Selective interpretation once again.
Togo; Another case of the blind misleading the blind.

Mikey4444 //Obviously not Vannon. Perhaps you should have sent your own Trump-loving political Editor instead.
//

I think you were referring to me not Vannon.

There again, it's very easy to attribute comments to someone who never stated them, as Donald Trump knows all too well...
I have just made an online complaint to the BBC about this which isn't too difficult if anyone else feels as strongly about it as I do;
http://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/
and follow the links.

I also find myself appalled to find myself agreeing with KH. Think I may have a go at khandro's link. Laura K was embarrassing and let journalism down i.m.o. I completely understand where she was coming from, but she got it very wrong.
In what way did she let journalism down?

I am really confused by the problem people have with this.

She was polite, accurate and - most importantly for press conferences - concise. Yet everybody seems to be crooning with sympathy for the most powerful man in the world, who has multiple times displayed an extremely hostile attitude to critical media and has even boasted of wanting to scale back press freedoms. Why?
Question Author
Jourdain2 - it's interesting to note a few people like yourself who have overtly agreed with the sentiments expressed by KH.

I think some people are afraid to admit under any circumstances that they agree with her on anything as she is so controversial but on this issue she is absolutely right, although I wouldn't have been so personal about her.

I don't dislike LK but I consider the question she asked as badly structured, sweeping and inappropriate.

It would still have been out of place had she stated 'some viewers at home'.
vortex has answered for me kromo..
I agree with Khandro, i.e. wrong time wrong place. I squirmed with embarrassment. I think LK was trying to embarrass them.

I disagree and would reiterate in particular the comments on this thread by Khandro.

Secondly, if it was Joe Bloggs who was stood facing the question I would still feel the same way.
