Theresa May Does 'not Agree' With Us Ban On Refugees
http:// www.bbc .co.uk/ news/uk -387865 76
"Prime Minister Theresa May does "not agree" with Donald Trump's refugee ban and will appeal to the US if it affects British citizens, Downing Street says"
She has vowed to step in if any British citizens are involved, and not before time. I guess the honeymoon is over Teresa !

What the present administration doesn't want is what has happened in Europe where hundreds of thousands of illegals have entered (some of them very dangerous hombres) with false documents - a good quality fake Syrian passport can be bought for as little as 200 euros.

Khandro....there 1000's of people trapped in transit, because this idiot didn't think the whole business out very well. The Court has now stepped in and called a temporary stop.
Its Mays job to look after British subjects, not toady up to him on every issue.
I am far from being a Tory fan, but if she stands up to him on this issue, then she has my support.

For the second time in a week, May has refused to answer a straight question from a reporter. In Turkey she repeatedly ignored the question and looked shifty.
This is beginning to look like a habit. Avoiding awkward questions by just refusing to snswer does not look clever.
For me the Jury is still out whether she is any good as Prime Minister, but I am starting to suspect that she is not honest.

"O Mr Trump I think you are so right - right you are - very right"
and outside " I gartta say - I am not sure that this wall building exercise is in anyone's interests "
I mean we have heard it all before
The difficulty ( or novelty ) is that you see the presidents lips move and think "oh they will move the other way in a second or two"

I am sure I'm being a little naive but then it always saddens me how much "diplomacy" seems to mean "abandonment of one's morals".
Pragmatism is important. But there surely must come a line where our interests must be set aside in favour of speaking the truth. Maybe we haven't reached that yet, but Trump certainly seems to be determined to test where that line is.

I really dont understand the issue with this apart from the left wing and anti Trump media deliberatley whipping it all up.
1) Trump promised in his election trail to do this. He was subseqjentley voted in so has a mandte to act. He has acted.
2) The country'e should not be referred to as 'majority Muslim' Countrys but as terrorist hotspots which is what we are. The liberal elite are attempting to twist as usual into it being anti Muslim. It is not it is anti terrorist, if yu are a Christian living in these places you will be subject to the same rigour
3) If anyone holds duel nationality then tough. If you dont want to be fully British then you are not committed to us so fight your own battle.
The bn is a temporary measure until visa's with more rigour are bought in, once in place thing will continue as they are with the exception of terrorists getting in, something we too should look at instead of inviting them in and housing and feeding them while they plot against us.

ymb:
1) But that is exactly the problem. We disagreed with what the mandate entailed, of course we are saddened to see it in action. Some people hoped that Trump might not mean what he says, but alas that hasn't been the case.
2) They are what they are. In the case of Iran, calling that a "terrorist hotspot" in particular is a bit backward. But even so the effect of banning *everyone* from that country is to cut off even the scientists, engineers, etc etc, that benefit whichever economy they are present in. This blanket ban hurts the US, and it hurts the people it affects. It's particularly awful that it's a ban that backdates, too, ie those people who already had been cleared for entry to the US suddenly find their access revoked.
3) ***. This obsession with "loyalty" to a single country is small-minded nonsense. I can't begin to express my horror that it's now so acceptable.

I agree that those en-route should have been a bit better treated. Perhaps they should have been fingerprinted/ mugshot taken on entry and allowed through proving their place of residence was checked or something. It is difficult to know though whether this was Trumps intention or a left leaning action to discredit Trump at this stage.
