But it was broken.

It was broken, didn't work well with some mobile devices, this version seems to be doing ok, so far.
In my experience it's doing ok on a PC, failing big time on mobile and tablet.
Well, I like it. It will take some getting used to for sure but I can see it is going to be much better for phones.
This new format is ugly and untidy.Don't like the layout at all, won't be using much from now on.
The thing I find most irritating is the Categories view - you have to scroll to the top of the page and re-open it every time you want to look in a different category. Seeing a selection of categories at the top of the screen, not ones I commonly look at, I was hopeful that it could be personalised; I can't find any way to do that.
There don't seem to be as many posts in the "latest Posts" panel as there were in the old format.
Sure as heck it isn't much better of my phone ! Total disaster. Makes one consider not bothering to visit if not at a proper PC.
There were always only six posts in latest posts. Because of the new layout it might appear less, but isn't.
Thanks Jackdaw - I wondered if it was just because of the new layout but, of course, there was no way of checking. I always felt more "Latest Posts" would have been better anyway.
There's 'always' been a whole tab dedicated to 'recently answered'.

PC version is still adequate (apart from the massive size text that ensures insufficient on a screen, and a need to work around the design flaw by fiddling with the zoom). But I try again today and despite what others seem to see, it is still near intolerable on mobile and not good on tablet.
O_G - do you still get the "stuff outside of boxes" issue on mobile/tablet? If so, that's not how it's meant to present and you need to clear you cache :)
ED can you help danny on new site design thread please
Ed, I have the same problem on my laptop and I cannot rectify it.Any suggestions welcome.
Hello Danny!

Can you let me know what browser you use? We'll need to clear your browsing data to sort out the look and feel.

Most are able to clear the issue by pressing "CTRL + F5" at the same time.
One needs instructions one can follow on clearing the cache.

Ah, still dodgy italics then.
Ah found the mobile clear cache (browser not mobile dependent) under 'privacy and security' ! Looks a bit better now but I'd need to check it further.
Now need to find a way to reduce the six foot high font (approximately) on the mobile.
ED, on my Toshiba laptop F5 refers to the keypad. I am using Google chrome.
One of my very early questions on Answerbank was in regard to a 'back to top' button.
I recall too that there were some rather brusque replies from those who still believe that they have a bigger stake than others in this forum.
Anyhoo, at the risk of repeating myself, any chance of a 'back to top' button to do away with all the scrolling?
