E U “It Is Difficult To See Any Alternative To The Continued Application Of The Common Fisheries Policy”.

"Outside the EU, an EEZ extends 200 nautical miles (370km) off a country's coastline, giving the state the authority to exploit and control the fish resources within this zone." http:// www. bbc. co. uk/ news/ uk- politics- eu- referendum- 36358016 I knew I had 200 miles in my head for some reason. Quite possibly enforceable if the gov pulls their finger out...

PS We could all write memos regarding things we have no control over.
So, what if they did put unacceptable conditions in their 'leaving demand's ? What are they going to do, force us to stay a member without getting a membership fee from us ? I think that the Grauniad is simply stirring in order to sell papers.

Britains territorial waters extend 12 miles, and that is all we can claim exclusivity on if we leave the EU.
The North Sea is international waters, and not ours. Anyone can fish there.
The only difference between this false claim by the Leave campaign, is they didn't bother to paint it on the side of a bus.

If we get out of it we will have ONLY the 12 mile limit around the UK coast as our fishing grounds. In the CFP we can fish as far away as Southern Portugal .
Talbot, I suggest you read it for yourself so you don't have to accuse me of making it up!

So the EU tells Cornish or Devonian fishermen that they can fish for squid or octopus in Spanish, or Greek, or Italian waters......... but they are not allowed to fish just outside their own harbours..... Haha talk about hook line and sinker. Tell em to "cast" off back to their own dead seas and we will do our own fishing thank you very much.
I can't claim to be a genius like you do, Zacs, but here's my view.
Dutch and Spanish factory ships are permanently ensconced in British waters to service their dredge fishers.
Meanwhile, they tell British fishermen how, when, where they can fish. It may just be a coincidence that the British fishing industry has been decimated during this time but I think not.
