We ridicule him, regarding the colour of his skin, his hair style etc, etc.

We ridicule his wife and family, yet had only praise and admiration for the previous President's wife and family.

We condemn him for speaking the truth about some Mexicans, when he says they are rapists and murderers, while we ourselves are reluctant to condemn some of our Muslims even though they have been proven as murdering terrorists etc.

We also raise petitions so as to get his arranged state visit to this country banned, yet in the past have accepted state visits from some of the world's worse despots.

What kind of message does this give out to, not only the President of the USA, but also the millions of American people who voted him in power, why should they be tolerant to what must seem to them as such a nasty little country as ours?

/// It's because his skin colour and his hair ARE ridiculous. A man in his 70s who spends longer on his hair and make-up than Lady Gaga is up for ridicule. ///

How can you possibly know how long he spends on his hair, seems to me he doesn't spend too much time on it at all. Regarding his skin colour he can not be held responsible for that, no more than a black skinned person can, that is except the late Michael Jackson of course.
No they are just childish playground insults.

/// The reason why the Obamas as a family were praised and admired is because they conducted themselves with dignity. ///

I sense you are being a little biased there sp, I wonder why?.

/// Furthermore, he did not say SOME Mexicans. This is what he actually said: ///

/// They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And 'SOME', I assume, are good people." ///

Yes that is what he said 'SOME' read what he said again, after all it was you who copied and posted it.

/// It's the other way around. He's saying that some Mexicans are good people, which means that most are bad. ///

Not necessarily so, but then perhaps this may be true, have you any reason to doubt it, either way?

/// Money on it - if Mugabe planned a visit to the UK, he would be petitioned. ///

May be so, but didn't we accept a visit from China's leader in 2015?

Cameron even enjoyed a pint with him.

/// seeing as Trump has the lowest approval rating for any US President...in history. ///

After only one month in office, and even worse than Bush?

Careful Zacs: some intolerant seine mocked Mr T's definition of uranium, but seems they were too hasty ...

More to the point, how does sp know how much time Trump spends on Lady Gaga?
Because AOG posted it he receives the sigh type comments but if you pick through the OP he makes some very valid points.
Valid points....Erm....like.....

'How can you possibly know how long he spends on his hair, seems to me he doesn't spend too much time on it at all. Regarding his skin colour he can not be held responsible for that'

AOG - he isn't naturally orange, he wears lots of makeup.

Thank you Prudie, some find more enjoyment having a go at me than entering into a serious debate on some important factors.

It is either that or they don't like to see someone that dares to hold a different opinion to theirs.
Serious debate.....ha! You thought he was naturally orange!
-Talbot-

You assume I have said that Trump's family have not conducted themselves with dignity.

I didn't say that. AOG wrote that we 'had only praise and admiration for the previous President's wife and family.'

I responded with:

[His wife stole parts of her FLOTUS speech from Michelle Obama. That's where the ridicule started. As for the rest of his family - I would lay money that most ABers couldn't even name one, let alone ridicule them. The reason why the Obamas as a family were praised and admired is because they conducted themselves with dignity.]
Appalled as I am that AOG thinks we're such a nasty little country, it is worth considering this: it seems that Geery Wilders is losing some support in the Netherlands due to his identifying with Trump. I find that rather fascinating. He's too much even for them ...
AOG

Donald Trump is solely responsible for his skin colour. No-one was born orange.

Michael Jackson's skin colour was a result of - vitiligo, a skin pigmentation disease which leave those affected with patches of discoloured skin. This is why he wore make up - to cover it up. It's in the autopsy report.

Regarding Obama - I think that most people would agree that his family deported themselves well during his tenure as President. Would you not agree?

No - you're wrong about the Mexican quote. I think we can both see why you're wrong, so it's no use debating it.

/// For a split second, the new U.S. President’s hair was blown out of place to reveal what some have described as a fake tan line on the leader’s forehead. ///

Are yes a 'fake tan line' don't you think that if he did use make-up (nothing wrong in that, in this day and age, one is careful to add) he would lift his hair from his forehead before he sprayed on the tan?

Or is it more reasonable to assume he really is sun tanned, I mean, who goes around in the sun lifting up one's hair, so as to gain an all over face tan?
I am still choking over my bacon sandwich !

"The vast majority of British people think he's brilliant"
This is a stand alone sentence

The reason why the Obamas as a family were praised and admired is because they conducted themselves with dignity.

If I say
Trump's family have conducted themselves with dignity.

Are you going to dispute that?
Prudie

I don't see the valid points in the OP (hence my earlier post).

I think there are some points being made which are thought-provoking, but that doesn't necessarily make them valid.

Regarding his tonsorial affectations - this isn't the first time this has happened...American has elected its own Silvio Berlusconi.
AOG, if it is a suntan then he does have a choice on how he looks. You commented that he didn't, relating it to black people. You can't have it both ways.

And if you believe it isn't make up then I'm not surprised that you believe everything else he says.
-Talbot-

I can't answer that. The only member of the family that I know about is Meliana. Or 'Mrs Ctrl-C Ctrl-V' as she is known in some circles.

/// Appalled as I am that AOG thinks we're such a nasty little country, ///

That is not what I said, and well you know it. This is what I put:

/// why should they be tolerant to what must seem to them as such a nasty little country as ours? ///

Seems to them!!!!!!!!!, the American people, not what it seems to AOG.
Trump didn't mention A Swiss attack, it was Swedish-http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-last-night-in-sweden-terror-attack-melbourne-florida-campaign-rally-a7588021.html
No-one can say that the vast majority of British people think that Trump is brilliant.

It's an unsupportable statement.

And without evidence, no-one can say that the vast majority of British people don't think Trump is brilliant.

However...
