I made no mention of Hitler carrying out news conferences, what I actually said was "allied news conferences".

And just another small correction Hitler himself wasn't busy committing genocide and conquering Europe at the time, it was his subordinates acting on his orders.

Mention of witch hunts against Trump always amuses me: here's a man who is not afraid to go in with both barrels blazing, aggressively insulting his opponents with hardly a second (or possibly even a first) thought. And casually drops misinformation into his briefings either through accident or design we know not.
So it's a bit like accusing folk of waving a stick at a Rottweiler.
I'd suggest this latest move is unwise on his part to say the least
