That presupposes that the 'power of Islam' is the reason why these men joined Isis.
That is clearly not the case - if it was, then Isis would be taking over the world, with every Muslim in its grasp, and that is clearly not happening.
The simple fact is, there are religious fanatics for every single faith on the planet.
It does not-one any good to assume that the insidious power of a seriously small minority equates to an evil intent harboured by every believer.
If you extrapolate that logic, then all Christians are late signing up to membership of the KKK.

"And if people are misguided, rather than simply evil, it rather negates the notion of taking any satisfaction in their deaths - doesn't it?"
Not to me it doesn't.
It would be no consolation to me or my family to know that I had been killed by a "misguided" individual rather than an "evil" individual.

Nor to me - but that is not the case for the posters on here who have expressed pleasure and satisfaction over the deaths of two young men whom they did not know.
I have always said that rejoicing in the deaths of others diminishes all of us - I echo that view here.

Agreed Andy, but this is AB where all sorts of emotions are printed on the deaths of people that the poster has never met and known only in the media.
It is a "realistic" response"..."pragmatic" maybe, rather than an exercise in semantics.

Then we must agree to differ.
My default reaction to the news of any violent death has never been to think - much less type 'Good!' or similar - it is simply not the way I think and I appreciate that others would disagree with that position.
As I say, you and I - and others, must simply agree to differ on this.

No problem - but by taking that view, you remove from yourself the right to be in any way upset or angry when you see an Isis terrorist rejoicing in the death of someone his or her organisation has killed.
The concept of evil, and the satisfaction and pleasure of the removal of someone you see as evil from the race of the earth, is a matter of perspective - and, if you think that way, rejoicing.

If I have something to say, I will say it, If I think the Government have it wrong I will start a protest, I do not join a bunch of scum heads going out murdering Men / Women / Children to fight their evil course, I rejoice because some families that's lost family members have been vindicated. Hallelujah.

That simply restates your position, a little more hysterically - it does not issue the moral dilemma I have suggested is a result of your stance on this issue.
