Sounds sensible advice to me. Sounds like some organisations want to encourage folk to fail to act responsibly because of some kind of warped idea that it means blaming the victim of crime. Perhaps they think folk should leave their front door wide open when they leave home because it's the burglar who is to blame.

Yes I know and I am sure it is true. But it does not alter the chances of a successful conviction . It is still necessary to prove that there was no consent. In fact it makes it more difficult to gain a conviction, convincing a jury that there was no consent is much easier if the assailant was a stranger.
why does a judge on her last day want to be remembered for being a jerk ? and nothing else
time 0700 - which is not exactly late ( well OK it is very late ) and the piccadilly basin is not exactly salubrious. but less than 200m from where Judge thingey could be plying her own trade ...
when I was in Hong Kong I offered to take a young lady to the bus stop and wait until she got on and she said:
" no you just dont get it. the Chinese dont attack women at night. " oo -er that was me told !

mikey......like you i am a little confused. over the past decade on AB discussions around the rape of vulnerable woman due to them being drunk, falling over, showing their knickers and dressing provocatively has unanimously censored the man and taken the attitude "why should the woman have to be on her guard?"
Now all of a sudden the AB women seemed to have changed tack and following the advice of the judge, agrees that women should be
more "caring"
Have I got this right?

Well I'm going to be a dissenter
So a woman getting trollied and then raped is akin to leaving your car window open and getting robbed is it?
(No ... no that's not what we said I expected to hear)
Maybe we need a scale of things not to do as to keep the rapists away.
Getting trollied meets the 'you haven't shown enough due diligence'
Getting quite tipsy is ok unless you mix that with wearing a short skirt and fishnet stockings ... it then becomes 'you haven't shown enough due diligence it could put you in danger '
Tipsy and wearing maxi skirt fine but not if you combine the long skirt with a lace top and see through bra ..... 'you then haven't shown enough due diligence and it could put you in danger '
Where does it stop?
I'm lucky that I can drink shedloads and my faculties stay intact. I know many who lose the plot but in my humble opinion non of them men or women are in away at fault if they get raped.

Well I hope I haven't been misunderstood - I'll try to put it simpler.
The only person to be at fault in a rape is the rapist.
Should girls/women be able to be out wearing whatever they like and be as drunk as they like and be safe?
Yes.
Should we encourage them to get very drunk and wander about town at night or advise them not to, with my Daughters I chose to advise them not to.
