Would she have come under equal criticism if she had said that either sex is more likely to be the victim of unpremeditated sexual assault when drunk? She has said that she does not condone the behaviour of the attackers.

The judge is right though. We are never going to escape the fact that there are rapists out there and the more drunk you are the less aware you become and drunk people often make daft decisions.

Isn't that the way things have been for years? It's all part of the mating ritual.

Man meets Woman, showers her with gifts ie a drink or drinks, Dinner for two, flowers, chocolates, a trip to the theatre or cinema etc.

All in the Hope of getting past stage one, which in my day was the holding of hands or an arm around her in the darkness of the cinema.

But these days that is all old hat and couples don't seem to have time for such niceties, and 'one night stands' are more the norm.

Needless to say of course that any such sexual happenings should be totally consensual.

Don't worry about it emmie, we all do from time to time, but in this judge's case, she is totally and firmly on this planet.
